Where Vedspace comes from

Vedspace Ventures is built around a simple idea: technology expertise can support more than a single product, and can form the foundation for a family of distinct businesses. Within that group, Vedspace is the part that focuses on software development and product engineering for clients. Earnexam represents the group’s education-technology product direction, and campus initiatives and research create room for new collaborations. Each part keeps its own name, audience and direction while sharing product thinking, engineering capability and a disciplined habit of learning from evidence.

How the team is put together

Software goes wrong at the seams: between what the business asked for, what was designed and what was built. We work as one accountable team across those disciplines rather than passing a project between separate functions, and the people who define the work stay involved while it is delivered. Team shape is decided per engagement based on what the project needs, which is why we scope each one separately rather than assigning a standard pod. The person you speak to about the problem is involved in solving it.

How we prefer to work with clients

We would rather be given a business objective than a specification, because a specification has already made the decisions that most affect the outcome. Work is done in the open: progress is inspectable as running software, decisions are documented with their reasoning, and unwelcome news arrives early rather than at a deadline. We say when we think something is a bad idea, including when it would be more profitable to agree.

What the company is, today

Vedspace Ventures is an operating studio with products in build, initiatives running with students and colleges, and ideas still at the question stage. Vedspace, the service practice, has published client work you can read on this site and a way of working described on every page. Each is presented at its own stage, so an early plan is never dressed up as a finished business.
