Menttalk connects two groups who rarely find each other on their own: people who need guidance — students choosing a path, professionals changing one — and experienced mentors willing to give it. Vedspace designed and built the platform from a definition stage through launch in twelve weeks: mentor profiles and discovery, session booking, in-platform conversations and the admin tools to run the community.
A two-sided platform fails if either side has a bad first week. Mentees needed to find the right mentor quickly and trust the process. Mentors needed a low-effort way to set availability, run sessions and see their impact. The team behind Menttalk needed to moderate, match and measure without a developer in the loop. All of it had to launch as one coherent product rather than a mentee app with a mentor afterthought.
We ran a two-week definition stage before writing production code: mapped both journeys end to end, decided what the first release must include and what could wait, and wrote the scope down. The build then went in reviewable fortnightly stages — discovery and profiles, then booking and availability, then sessions and messaging, then admin and moderation — each demonstrated as working software. Roles and permissions were modelled properly from the start, and the platform was instrumented before launch so the team could see where mentees and mentors were dropping off.
Menttalk launched with mentor discovery, booking, sessions and moderation working as a single product, on the scope agreed at the start. The client owns the source, the accounts and the roadmap. Growth figures are theirs to publish.
